SAN FRANCISCO (Nov. 10, 2009) — The Board of Supervisors has voted to override a mayoral veto of an amendment to the San Francisco City and County of Refuge Ordinance — or “Sanctuary Ordinance” (S.F. Admin. Code Sec. 12H) — which pertains to the confidentiality of juveniles’ immigration status. In light of the enactment of that ordinance, City Attorney Dennis Herrera sent a letter to U.S. Attorney Joseph P. Russoniello, which he has made available on the City Attorney’s Web site.
